Description
Not all heroes wear capes and this smoothie is no exception. Packed with fruit and greens its sure to provide a boost to your morning routine. I’ve been using my Vitamix 5300 for years to make this smoothie and love it.
If you are looking to increase the nutrition profile you can top with hemp seeds or throw some chia seeds into the mix. This smoothie also doubles as a great post workout smoothie by adding a scoop of your favorite protein mix.
The addition of vegan yogurt is optional but recommended. The pre and probiotics help aid in digestion and mental clarity. Plus it alleviates the need for a supplement. I tend to reach for the coconut based yogurts at the super market. But the almond and soy equivalents are also really good.
This recipe will make roughly 24-32 ounces of smoothie depending on how proud your measurements are and how much added water is included. The end result is two decent sized smoothies for you and a friend or one large smoothie for yourself. Enjoy!
Ingredients
1 1/2 cups frozen blueberries
1/2 cup frozen mango
1/2 cup frozen pineapple
1 ripe banana, peeled
1 handful of spinach
1 individual vegan yogurt cup (typically about 5.3 ounces)
1/2 cup orange juice
1 1/2 cups Oat milk (Soy or Almond also work)
Directions
- Add the banana, spinach, blueberries, mango, and pineapple to a blender
- Next add the vegan yogurt cup
- Add the orange juice and Oat milk
- Pulse the blender until the ingredients start to blend together. Then blend on medium-high for 1 – 2 minutes or until mixture is completely incorporated. Add a 1/4 cup of water at a time if the mixture binds.
